Challenge Activities Ropes Experience

The Challenge Activities Ropes Experience (C.A.R.E.) program at The Long Island Home is a non-traditional approach to encouraging individual growth and building team skills, and is designed by health care professionals to specifically address the needs of children and adolescents. The goal is to develop self-esteem, confidence and trust in one’s self and others through a variety of professionally-guided experiences, including adventure/innovative activities, fun/action activities, self-esteem/confidence-building activities, communication/listening techniques, problem solving projects, and team building/cooperation activities. We offer a half day and a full day curriculum that includes group introductions, an ice-breaker activity, and two–four high challenge activities. Action activities include: climbing a tower or wall and zip wire. The C.A.R.E. Program is a great way to combine fun and personal growth with teen and pre-teen campers.
