ABOUT
Dupont Environmental Education Center
The Center features a 10-acre ornamental garden, a pond loop through a freshwater tidal marsh, and a four-story environmental center with panoramic views. Located at the edge of a 212-acre wildlife refuge, a footpath allows visitors to explore tidal marshes and see beavers, dragonflies, turtles, wild rice, and other plants and wildlife. Field trips allow groups to learn about the ecosystem and its inhabitants while collecting data. Explore birds, insects, and how water interacts with the land. Study fish and their anatomy to understand how they adapt to their habitat, and use tools to test water quality parameters. Learn about the area’s history, and how early human activity impacted the wetlands.
