Abbe Museum

At the Abbe Museum, campers will learn about Maine’s Native peoples—the Wabanaki tribes, including the Maliseet, Micmac, Penobscot, and Passamaquoddy—through exciting exhibitions, activities, craft workshops, and more. With two locations in Bar Harbor, campers won’t run out of things to see! The museums have more than 50,000 objects—from stone tools to ceramics and instruments—representing 10,000 years of culture and history. Campers can learn about subjects like storytelling, stereotypes, and archaeology. If you are interested in arranging a program for your camp group, contact George Neptune, Museum Educator, at george@abbemuseum.org.
