Desert of Maine

Bring your campers to the Desert of Maine to see this REAL desert created by a glacier that slid through the area 11,000 years ago! Campers can enjoy a 30 minute educational Tour Ride, go on a walking tour, or follow marked nature trails. See our 1783 Farm Museum and Tuttle Barn featuring antique farm tools and sand paintings, or go mining for gems and fossils! Campers can watch sand artists at work as they create intricate shapes and patterns in glass bottles. For an additional fee, campers can even make their own sand bottle art! Be sure to also check out our Butterfly Room and campgrounds.
