Franklin Park Zoo

At Zoo New England, students can learn about the wonders of the natural world! On a Behind-the-Scenes Tour your class can see the Zoo from a new point of view. Students will meet some amazing animals and have their questions answered by experienced Zoo educators. On a tour of Franklin Farm, students will learn more about horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep and goats as well as chickens and pigs. Program topics include Animal Adaptations, Endangered Species, Animal Classification, Life Cycles, Animal Senses, Wildlife Conservation, Ecosystems, Zoo Careers, Habitats, and Rainforests. Students will encounter touchable biofacts and program animals, think critically about animal adaptations, identify various zoo careers, identify some of the common threats to endangered species, and more.
