Ice & Roller Skating Fun Facts

Did you know that the average speed skater can skate 30 miles per hour? Ever wonder how they are able to round corners at extreme angles without falling over? Did you know that the average figure skater can spin four times in the air before landing on one foot?

The world of skating may look graceful and sleek on television, but these sports are actually very difficult to master and rely heavily on the laws of physics. Ask the staff at the skating rink to explain and demonstrate the physics involved in moving, stopping, and even colliding on skates.
