Living Classrooms

Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region provide interdisciplinary shipboard and land-based education programs that emphasize hands-on learning and build the skills students need to be successful. They offer several different programs at various locations. Bring your students on a field trip to one of the educational sites, such as Kingman Island or Camp Fraser, where they will be presented with unique opportunities to explore a local watershed, develop problem solving skills, and challenge themselves on low ropes courses and rock climbing walls. Their Shipboard STEM programs, will take your students aboard a historic boat to learn about water quality and local aquatic ecosystems. Living Classrooms will also come to your school to run supplemental environmental programming in your classroom or schoolyard.
