Rocket Ice

At Rocket Ice, groups of all skating levels will have a fun time out on the rink. Serving Naperville, Woodridge, Joliet, Downers Grove, Romeoville, Plainfield, Lemont, and Bolingbrook, Rocket Ice features two skating rinks—Lake Placid and Lake Tahoe—on which groups will enjoy music as they glide across the ice. Themed skate days throughout the year include Hawaiian Skate, Nashville Skate, 90s music skate and more. Off the ice, enjoy the two stone fireplaces and lodge themed café areas that overlook the ice.  If you would like to bring a sack lunch, just let us know and we will save a space for you to do that.  Add a note to your on-line booking or call or email us.  Rocket Ice is staffed with Skate Guards so Camp Counselors do not need to skate if they can resist!  Admission to Rocket Ice includes skate rental. Group rates available to groups of 10 or more who book in advance.

Indoor Entertainment - Arcades Fun Facts

Have campers take a (quick) break from the fun on the next trip to an indoor amusement center, and have them think about the design and day-to-day operations of the venue. How is it designed and laid out? What games and features (batting cages, arcade games, redemption games) go where, and why? Have them take a look around at how many people are there enjoying themselves; what is the maximum number of occupants, and why? How does the management go about heating and cooling the venue at different times of the year?

Speak to the staff about these questions; learn the "why" behind how things are arranged, and consider the role of safety. Relate this to how things are organized and what the rules are back at the camp.
