Mariners' Museum and Park

Embark on a nautical adventure at The Mariners’ Museum and Park, home to a replica of the ironclad ship USS Monitor and artifacts recovered from her shipwreck. Groups can make their own virtual ironclad ship at the USS Monitor Center, learn about shipwrecks and how to survive one in the Abandon Ship: Stories of Survival exhibit, hold original artifacts like a harpoon on a behind-the-scenes tour, and more. Educational programs focus on science, history, and language arts with activities such as building a hull for cargo and examining navigational instruments. Groups can also enjoy a film in the Explorers Theater and stroll through the 550-acre park.
