Hollywild Animal Park

At Hollywild Animal Park, students and scouts can meet colorful animals from around the world. They may encounter goats and sheep, tigers, bears, llamas, peacocks, buffalo, baboons, cougars, African Lions, and others. Field trips at the zoo make for a fun, unique outdoor classroom experience: groups might get to feed baby goats, admire snakes, or ride on the Safari Bus, surrounded by herds of animals. Interactive, 30-minute Creature Features provide another up-close way of learning about specific animals. Scouts are encouraged to come to the zoo and learn about conservation, environmental science, endangered species, and other topics.

Zoos Fun Facts

The giraffe’s tongue is black to prevent sunburn while eating in the hot sun. Their spots, which are as unique as human fingerprints, are designed for camouflage. They also need less sleep than any other mammal, using the time instead to browse for food.

When visiting the zoo, be on the lookout for the clever ways that the animals have adapted to their surroundings and developed traits that help them to survive.

Most zoos provide free educational resources to make your trip more meaningful; some offer group tours. You can also ask about animal feeding times or other events and plan your trip accordingly.
