Discovery Center Museum

Discovery Center Museum offers a wide variety of field trip styles and formats to suit your classes’ interests, learning level, and needs. Explore over 300 hands-on permanent exhibits on two floors of fun! Interactive exhibits cover topics on electricity, weather, agriculture, communication, color and light, air and flight, mathematics, simple machines, and the human body. In addition, the Center includes an outdoor science park (weather permitting), STEM and Junior STEAM Labs, and Group Planetarium Shows.

The first children’s museum in the world was the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, founded in 1899. Hundreds of children’s museums have opened in the United States since then. As of 2007, the Association of Children’s Museums estimated that there were approximately 80 children’s museums in development alone.
