The Wadsworth-Longfellow House

Take campers to see the childhood home of the national literary figure Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the beloved 19th century poet whose poems have become an integral part of America’s culture. Built by General Peleg Wadsworth in 1786, the household features the Wadsworth’s and Longfellow’s original items and artifacts from the three generations that lived there. Campers can explore the home on a guided tour and examine aspects of Longfellow’s childhood. They can also see the Longfellow Garden, a beautifully landscaped secluded colonial Revival style garden.
