Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge

The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge offers excellent opportunities for campers to go bird watching and hiking. We have foot trails that wind through a variety of habitats, including freshwater and saltwater marshes, grasslands, and woodlands. We have a wide variety of trails that have informative signs that offer insight to the wildlife and habitat. On our four mainland divisions and 58 islands, campers can see rare and endangered species like bald eagles, Atlantic Puffins, Arctic Tern, Roseate Tern, Razorbills, and more.
