Before European settlers arrived in 1536, Orlando was sparsely populated by the Creek and other Native American tribes. It is best known for its theme parks, water parks, and natural attractions. While nature preserves may not be the first things people associate with Orlando, it has plenty of green space to appreciate. Disney Wilderness and the Tibet-Butler Preserve, together with over 4 lakes, offer nature exploration, boating, kayaking, hiking and bird-watching.
